Trump threatens to sue Scotland over wind farm plan

CNN -- It was Donald Trump's long-held dream. To build the best links golf course in the world in Scotland, but it is fast turning into a nightmare for the billionaire business tycoon.

After initial opposition to the project from environmental groups, Trump now has a green problem of his own, in the shape of an offshore wind farm.

With the Trump International Golf Links ready for action Trump has shelved plans for an adjoining hotel until a decision is made on the wind farm.

And he was in Scotland this week to accuse the government of luring him into his £1 billon (pound) project by telling him the offshore develop would never be built.

His project would certainly be a boost to the tax base for them and generate vacationers who will spend money . Really short sighted on the Scot's side.

He builds absolutely the finest golf courses and hotels and probably doesn't want the windfarm to distract from them in spite of what others think. (But what is this article doing on here anyway? It may cost him a few dollars. Does he have a problem when Governments layoff, freeze or change their employee packages; is it his problem when Governments reduce health care to the indigent? I can't say which way he should lean, BUT I do wish there were some consistency in his arguments and it not be a self centered thought process.

Trump claims "he received assurances from Alex Salmond at a dinner in New York back in 2007 that the offshore development, which is just a mile from his course, would not go ahead." I guess Salmond war wrong then! But I don't understand what the beef is. What do windmills a mile away from shore have to do with the golf course? Besides, Modern wind mills are an elegant sight anyway, so if anything they make the resort even nicer. So if Trump insists on being a cry baby, I hope Scottland tells him to kiss off.
